Overview
Limit is a Bluesky client that prioritizes your privacy. We believe your personal data should stay personal.
Data Collection
We do NOT collect, store, or transmit any personal data to our servers.
What stays on your device:
- Your Bluesky login credentials (stored securely in iOS Keychain)
- Timeline posts cache (stored locally using SwiftData)
- App preferences and settings
- Favorited posts and URLs
- Application logs (never transmitted)
What we access:
- Bluesky AT Protocol API: To fetch your timeline, posts, and user data
- Internet connection: Required to connect to Bluesky servers
- Device storage: To cache posts and store your preferences locally
Third-Party Services
Bluesky Social
Limit connects directly to Bluesky’s AT Protocol API. Your interactions with Bluesky (posting, liking, following) are governed by Bluesky’s Privacy Policy.
No Analytics or Tracking
- We do not use analytics services
- We do not track your usage
- We do not collect crash reports
- We do not serve advertisements
Data Security
- Login credentials are stored in iOS Keychain (industry-standard secure storage)
- All data remains on your device
- No data is transmitted to Limit servers (we don’t have any)
- Communication with Bluesky uses HTTPS encryption
Your Rights
Since we don’t collect your data:
- There’s no data to delete from our servers
- There’s no data to export from our systems
- You can delete all app data by removing the app from your device
Children’s Privacy
Limit does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The app connects to Bluesky, which has its own age requirements.
Changes to Privacy Policy
We will update this policy if our privacy practices change. Updates will be posted in the app and on our GitHub repository.
